The next step to take is to sand the floor using 60 grit sandpaper and the belt sander.  Also, repeat the same with different sandpapers of which you finish with the shop vac to get rid of the debris and dust.

After dealing with dust and debris, start water popping.  What water popping means is the process of getting the floor wet to help in raising the grain. After applying the first coating of oil-based things, you should give it 24 to 48 hours to dry up. Polyurethane is then applied after the oil-based stains have dried up using the foam roller of which you are advised to give at least two hours to dry.

Now after you are done with the coating, it is time you start the buffing using the 220-grit screen.  After buffing, you should wipe the floor so that you can apply the second coating using polyurethane of what you should repeat this same process for 3-4 times.  After you're done with this process, your floor will be a brand-new.
